Join us for a special monthly gathering of the Ann Arbor chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation: “Know your farmer, know your food – learn how and why to support our local small farmers”. For our last monthly gathering before the summer break we’ll be discussing the importance of supporting our local farmers, from both a nutritional and an economic point of view. Dr. Mark Perlmutter will kick off the evening with a lively talk about why supporting our local farmers improves our health and the health of our community. Then we will have a special panel discussion with representatives from the Community Farm of Ann Arbor (http://www.communityfarmofaa.org/), Back Forty Acres (http://www.backfortyacres.com/), and Dairy Delight Cow Boarding (http://www.dairydelight.org/).
Our guests will have farm-fresh foods available for sale after the discussion, too!
When: Wednesday, May 19, 2010 6:45pm – 8:30pm
Where: Ann Arbor Center for Natural Healing, 2433 Oak Valley Drive, Suite 100B, Ann Arbor (behind the Target store on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd., and just down the road from the AA library)
A special buffet of yummy, nutrient-dense snacks will be provided.
No RSVP necessary. This event is free and open to all!
(Since our last few events have been quite packed, we’re asking that if you have a favorite folding chair that you’d be willing to bring for yourself, that would be very helpful!)
